Privacy Policy — Consteli

The honest summary
Consteli collects nothing. There is no account, no login, no server. Everything you write stays on your iPhone and never leaves it. We don't know who you are, how many gratitudes you've written, or whether you opened the app today.
This policy is short because there isn't much to say.
What is stored, and where
Everything below lives only on your device, inside the app's private storage:
- The text of your gratitudes and the date of each one.
- Photos you attach, saved inside the app. When saving, we strip all metadata from the original image — including location, date and device model — and reduce its size. Not even we would have access to that; it simply isn't kept.
- Your preferences: theme, star colour, language, reminder time.
If you delete the app, all of it goes with it. We hold no copy.
What we don't do
- We don't send your data anywhere. The app makes no network connection to transmit your content.
- We use no tracking, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tools that observe your behaviour.
- We don't ask for your name, email, phone number, or any identifier.
- We don't sell or share anything, because we have nothing to sell or share.
Permissions the app may request
- Camera and photos: only when you choose to attach a photo to a gratitude. The image stays in the app, on your device.
- Notifications: only if you turn on the daily reminder. The notification is built on your own device, at the time you chose. Nothing is sent from outside.
You can decline or revoke either one in iPhone Settings. The app keeps working; only that feature stops.
iPhone backup
If you use iCloud or computer backup, your diary is included in that backup, like any other app's data. That backup is between you and Apple, governed by Apple's terms, not by this policy. Consteli performs no backup of its own and has no access to your iCloud.
Your data is yours
- Export: in Settings you can export everything as Markdown, with or without photos. The file is readable by anyone and goes wherever you send it.
- Delete: deleting the app deletes everything. Since we store nothing, there is nothing to request removal of.
Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing to request, correct or withdraw from us. Rights under GDPR, CCPA and similar laws regarding access, correction and deletion are exercised directly on your device.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If the app ever does something that involves sending data — it does not today — this policy will be updated first, and the change will be announced in the app. The date at the top shows the current version.
